Our History
Zakat Thailand (zakatthailand.com) is the end-to-end Zakat management platform operated by Zakat (Thailand) Company Limited (Social Enterprise), under the supervision of the Economics Alumni Association of Fatoni University. It serves as an intermediary connecting Zakat payers, Zakat organizations, and Zakat recipients, with the objective of enhancing efficiency, trust, transparency, and effectiveness in Zakat organizations' operations to improve the quality of life and income of Zakat recipients in Thailand, enabling them to transition from Zakat recipients to Zakat payers.
On November 6, 2019, the Economics Alumni Association of Fatoni University began developing a prototype end-to-end Zakat management platform (Zakat calculation system). Subsequently, the Halal Institute of Prince of Songkla University presented this prototype platform to the Federation of Provincial Islamic Committees of 15 southern provinces on December 26, 2019, at Phung-nga Hotel in Phang-nga Province, during the project "Training and Monitoring Program for Efficient Zakat Fund Management." Participants showed great interest in using the platform for Zakat management, but due to lack of funding for developing the complete platform, services could not yet be provided to various organizations.
The Economics Alumni Association of Fatoni University then sent students from the Financial Economics and Banking program at Fatoni University, Team Zakat Thailand, to participate in the Youth Co:Lab 2021 project organized by UNDP Thailand. On October 31, 2021, the team advanced to the top 5 teams and received project trial funding of 30,000 THB to develop a minimum viable product end-to-end Zakat management platform (MVP) including Zakat calculation system, Zakat payment system, and Zakat application system. On January 31, 2022, the team advanced to the final 2 teams and received project funding of 100,000 THB to develop an online Zakat payment system. On July 7, 2022, the Economics Alumni Association of Fatoni University received Innovation Network Enterprise funding of 908,750 THB from the National Innovation Agency (NIA) to develop the complete end-to-end Zakat management platform to operate according to its established objectives. The platform currently provides services nationwide.

"Take from their wealth a charity to cleanse them and purify them thereby" (Surah At-Tawbah, Verse 103)
To be the end-to-end zakat management platform with international standards in zakat management that can improve the quality of life and income of zakat recipients in Thailand.
We provide the end-to-end Zakat management platform for Zakat organizations, using the Zakat Recipients Map and Analytics Platform (ZRMAP) to develop the capacity of Zakat recipients to become self-sufficient and eventually graduate from zakat dependency.
