Social Impacts of Zakat Thailand Platform

Past Social Impact Since 2022 During the pilot phase, a prototype online zakat calculation and payment system was provided to three zakat management organizations in Yala Province: the Orphan Welfare and Charity Foundation, the Foundation for Education and Human Resource Development, and the Zakat and Public Charity Foundation. These three organizations collectively received 202,382.89 THB in zakat through the platform and delivered food welfare assistance to 161 eligible zakat-recipient families in Yala Province.

Past Social Impact from 2023 to 2025 Four zakat management organizations — the Foundation for Education and Human Resource Development, the Abu Hurairah Foundation for Orphans and Social Welfare, the Al-Huda Foundation for Society, and Zakat (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (a social enterprise) — received a total of 70,766 THB in other donations and 864,273 THB in zakat through the platform. Zakat welfare totaling 191,687 THB was delivered to eligible recipients across six provinces: Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, Phatthalung, Satun, and Krabi. This assistance included vocational promotion support for 7 families amounting to 95,198 THB (one of which reported an income increase of 400–600 THB per day), educational scholarships for 69 families totaling 63,440 THB, monthly food allowances for 16 families totaling 21,429 THB, housing rent assistance for 3 families totaling 9,500 THB, and debt relief for 1 family amounting to 1,800 THB.

Expected Social Impact Over the Next 2 Years Total zakat and other donations through the platform are projected to reach approximately 2.1 million THB. Zakat management organizations are expected to deliver vocational promotion welfare alone (excluding other forms of assistance) to 60 eligible families across various provinces, amounting to approximately 900,000 THB (God willing).
